This book, REFLECTING ON THE WORD, contains Bible verses that are uplifting. It was February in 1984 when I met Christ in my heart by faith. Over the course of time, since that one Sunday morning where I received Christ’s Spirit in my heart like a young child, I took down notes every time I had an opportunity to apply a Bible verse to my everyday life’s principles. In 1996, I experienced a devastating fire that burned my house, which included my treasured books and a computer. As a part of my Christian practice, I reviewed my physical notes, as I didn’t have Internet access at that time, to find my annotations on the Book of Job, where it says, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him… the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” (Job 13:15, 1:21) It was the backstory of how this book, “REFLECTING ON THE WORD: A Journey Through Scripture’s Most Meaningful Passages,” took shape.
