THE SAFEST ROUTE TO ETERNAL BLISS: EXPLORING ETERNAL LIFE

Eternal Life is a Promised Reality

eternal life

As human beings, we all share a deep longing for something more – a sense that this life cannot be all there is. The idea of eternal life, of existing beyond the grave, has captivated hearts and minds for millennia. But is it merely a comforting fantasy, or can we know with certainty that there is life after death?

We are enthralled with the idea of immortality, but always with a mindset of Satanic lies. We can see from various cultures worldwide the teachings and rituals correlated to eternal life based on superstitious beliefs. It includes ancient practices of astrology, black magic, divination, voodooism, and sorcery.

Mummification of the dead also reflects people’s belief in the afterlife.

Why is a blind faith in eternal life necessary and even embraced by humanity since ancient times? Fear of the unknown motivates people to carry magic charms, practice feng shui, or embrace all forms of superstition. Superstitions exist because of our inherent fear of the unknown. We need a sense of security against all forms of harm, including death itself. In short, the feeling that we live forever after death lives in our hearts naturally.

The good news is that eternal life is not just a dream – it is a promised reality, revealed to us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the Gospel of John, Jesus declares, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26) This is the core message at the heart of the Christian faith – that through faith in Christ, we can be assured of eternal life in the presence of God.

However, we are indifferent when the truth about our eternal life is associated with Christ. As stated by Thomas a Kempis, “For a small reward, a man will hurry away on a long journey; while for eternal life, many will hardly take a single step.” If we were to rephrase it, we would hurry only when belief in immortality is based on superstition, but not when we base our hope for eternal life on Christ’s promises.

All the advice you receive has made you tired. Where are all your astrologers, those stargazers who make predictions each month? Let them stand up and save you from what the future holds.—Isaiah 47:13, NLT.

Salvation Through Faith in Christ Alone

The path to this eternal life is not found in our own good works or moral achievements, but solely through faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. As the Bible teaches, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9)

I noticed that more people were engaged in benevolent deeds and humanitarian endeavors because of feel-good hormones. People often attribute this dopamine effect to the belief that God will show mercy to those involved in aid efforts. Joining a community service project will not make you sinless in the eyes of God. It is the main issue when speaking about our eternal future in heaven. What will happen with our sins if we are kind to our neighbors? The answer is that our good works toward humanity cannot accomplish divine forgiveness. We sin against God, and we are accountable for our sins to Him alone. Christ came to save us through the shedding of His own blood. As such, the apostle John said, “You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.” (1 John 3:5)

When we place our trust in Christ, acknowledging our need for forgiveness and accepting His sacrifice on the cross, we are saved from the penalty of our sin and granted the promise of eternal life. This is not something we earn or deserve, but a free gift of God’s love and grace.

Guarding Against False Teachings

However, not everyone who claims to speak for God is proclaiming the true gospel. The apostle Paul warned the early church against “doctrines of demons” – false teachings that would lead people astray from the simplicity and power of the gospel message. (1 Tim. 4:1)

One such heresy is hyper-Calvinism, which teaches that Christ does not love everyone and that God predestines some to heaven and others to hell. This undermines the biblical truth that God “desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Tim. 2:4) We must be vigilant in guarding against such distortions of the faith, clinging instead to the sound, life-giving doctrines revealed in Scripture.

We are in the last days, and most churches have become obsessed with “prosperity” through faith, rather than spiritual growth and closeness to Christ. It is not wrong to pray to have your house, but wealth accumulation should not form part of the church’s creed as if the CEO, the pastor, is no longer focused on spirituality but on the church’s material growth.

During COVID-19, most pastors led their flock to get the jab, which was not a truth-centered and Spirit-guided conviction, as the mRNA vaccines have now turned out to be extremely harmful. Why was God silent when COVID-19 was a part of the globalists’ depopulation agenda? It is the side effect of the church’s leaders’ concentration on doctrines rather than a close relationship with Christ and a constant meditation on His truths.

Why are we halfhearted about leaders’ focus on church doctrines? Our answer is that God requires us to teach sound doctrines, not doctrines of demons. A four-year seminary training, for example, is not a guarantee of acquiring spotless biblical doctrines. Every Bible institute has endorsed a set of teachings, as when a Pentecostal seminary teaches speaking in tongues and a Baptist Bible institute teaches hyper-Calvinism. As they say, every church has its corner of truth.

It is a problem. We must guard ourselves against false teachings.

Living in Light of Eternal Life

When we embrace the promise of eternal life through faith in Christ, it should transform the way we live in the present. Rather than being consumed by the temporary concerns of this world, we are called to set our minds on the eternal realities that await us.

As the apostle John wrote, “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” (1 John 3:1) This awareness of our identity as beloved children of God should compel us to live with purpose, holiness, and an unwavering hope in the life to come.

This is the message at the heart of this book. Through a careful exploration of biblical teachings, I aim to guide readers towards a deeper understanding of Christ’s promise of eternal life and the transformative impact it should have on our lives today.
